DOUGLAS CARDINAL FOUNDATION FOR INDIGENOUS WALDORF EDUCATION

New Building Project

In 2017, we had the great honor of beginning a relationship with world-renowned Indigenous architect Douglas Cardinal. He and his team are helping us to create our dream school. Through student and parent input, the first phase has begun. Fundraising for our biggest goal yet will start within the year.

FUNDRAISING

A sovereign school

The Friends of the Akwesasne Freedom School are the fundraising arm of the school. By being the buffer between the school and donors, the school is able to maintain a curriculum free from outside, non-native, input.

PARTNERSHIPS

It takes a village

The Friends of the Akwesasne Freedom School work alongside several programs within Akwesasne to ensure that the difficult work of revitalizing and sustaining our beautiful culture is carried forward for the next seven generations.

The prophecies say that the time will come when the grandchildren will speak to the whole world. The reason for the Akwesasne Freedom School is so the grandchildren will have something significant to say.
